Waco homes in the TSTC area are so far from a fire station that the fire loss there has been significantly higher for the last several years.

Due to that distance, the Insurance Standards Office (ISO) would give the TSTC area its worst rating of 10 (as if it had no fire station at all), raising insurance rates for those homeowners.

It’s a shame to have a fire department response time longer than five minutes when life, home and possessions are on the line.

Shorten fire response time and fire losses — while helping to lower Waco’s ISO (risk) rating from 4 to 3, which could lower all of our citizens’ insurance rates — 9% for commercial property and 4% for residential.

By combining Fire Stations #1 & #3 in a strategic new location, the #1 crew can move to a new TSTC station, eliminating need to hire new crew, saving the City from increased operating expense.

This new construction will provide much-needed storage room for support equipment used throughout the department.
