It’s been 40 years since Waco voters have passed a City bond election. Where would
Waco be today without our last successful bond that passed in 1967? We would not have
a Convention Center at all which has provided over $270 million into our local economy
(in direct, incoming dollars), or a low-water dam that significantly widened the Brazos.
That bond also brought three new fire stations, numerous roads and bridges, the Texas
Ranger Museum, park improvements and much more. On this site, read what today’s
citizens can offer to future generations by voting Yes May 12.

Well lit and attractively landscaped, our 14 new walking trails will highlight parks across the city.

From older adult walkers to the littlest toddlers, our parks enhance the health
and neighborhood vitality for all our citizens. And our economy! Waco parks
pour an estimated $37 million into our community each year through fee-based activities, tournaments, major events drawing tourists, and park facility rentals. Quality park amenities are also scrutinized by prospective relocating companies. Outdoor recreation areas always rank high as a quality of life factor. Fact is: we want great parks for ourselves.
