It’s been 40 years since Waco voters have passed a City bond election. Where would
Waco be today without our last successful bond that passed in 1967? We would not have
a Convention Center at all which has provided over $270 million into our local economy
(in direct, incoming dollars), or a low-water dam that significantly widened the Brazos.
That bond also brought three new fire stations, numerous roads and bridges, the Texas
Ranger Museum, park improvements and much more. On this site, read what today’s
citizens can offer to future generations by voting Yes May 12.

567,000 visitors of all ages keep our libraries busy morning to night.

Do we want one of the cornerstones of culture in our city to be a center of education and entertainment or a sagging, overcrowded and outmoded group of facilities? Most of us have wished someone would take care of this. Well, then, let’s get it done ourselves. Last year our libraries saved consumers $9.95 million in purchases by lending 497,511 items. In its Summer Reading Club alone, libraries loaned over 27,250 books to 2,589 children who participated. What will renovations cost you? Less than a couple of cheap paperback books.
